Strategic Coaching FAQ

What Happens in a Coaching Session?
Every coaching session is a collaboration between the coach and the person being coached. Sessions average between 30 and 90 minutes depending on what is set in the coaching agreement.

In the coaching session, we'll investigate, discuss, and process so that we can move you towards your goal. Using powerful questions and deep insights, the person being coached works with their strategic coach to identify and then implement coaching goals.

Is Coaching Similar To Psychotherapy?
There are some similarities between coaching & counseling. In both, coaches and therapists create positive environments that encourage constructive communication. Coaches must listen well, be sensitive to peoples' emotions, and help clients gain insight into their needs and wants. Both professionals hold all session content and any related written materials in strictest confidence in accordance with the law. However, that's where the similarities end.

Coaching's focus is moving you forward. We don't provide psychological assistance or make diagnoses, nor do we offer long term or therapeutic counseling.

Coaches are also dissimilar to other professionals who help people with major life issues.  For examples, coaches don't provide legal assistance or medical advice unless trained and licensed to so. If we think our clients would benefit from additional services, we'll recommend this.

How Do You Coach People Around Decisions and Change?
We help our clients identify & explore important information about their lives, including values, interests, preferences, experiences - positive & negative, and needs. Often, an important part of change revolves around working on areas where people feel “stuck” or unable to decide how to move ahead.  Coaches and clients work together to realize solutions and keep things progressing in a positive direction. Decisions flow naturally from a renewed focus on our passions & goals.

Where Does My Coach Meet with Me?

Coach contact is mostly done over the phone, which eliminates travel time & expenses. Appointments are set using the Coaching Agreement and then clients & coaches talk over the phone.

How long Do I Get Coached?

As long as there is reason to keep moving forward. Normally, the first coaching agreement sets the tone for the rest of the relations. Many people find it helpful to start with three months of coaching, and then work with their coach to refine the timeframe.

How Much Does Coaching Cost?

In general, costs vary according to several factors. We offer a range of pricing options to enable as many people as possible to work with us. We are committed to providing affordable organizational services while maintaining our excellent service & performance standards. We customize our pricing to meet our client's resources and will talk with you at no cost to discuss how we can be of service.

Do Clients Have Any Kind of Contract Or Agreement?
Yes. We will provide you with a Letter of Agreement after an initial, complimentary session. The Agreement's purpose is to clarify expectations, meeting arrangements and fees.

How Do People Know If Coaching Is Right For Them?
The best way to know if coaching is right for you is to experience it. After the complimentary session you should have a much better idea of what coaching is & how it can be of help to you. If there is still uncertainty, we can discuss how to move forward in your decisions about coaching.

Do You Offer Coaching for Groups and Teams?
Group Coaching and Team Coaching are available for a variety of issues. Groups provide opportunities to share common challenges and pool one another's experience to solve problems. Teams are groups that are moving towards a common goal & we coach them to be more effective in their role.
